Following the turmoil in the US, and the rushed merger of Credit Suisse and UBS, there has been some concern about the health of the European banking sector. While on the surface the regulatory regime in Europe may have been stricter to protect the banking sector, this discussion will look at how resilient the sector is and what the authorities should be looking to do in order to protect the sector and the wider economy.
