Thursday, May 9, 2024
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Eastern
In today's society, consumer attitudes and preferences are influenced by increasing political polarization and societal division. This panel aims to explore how political views affect consumer choices and delve into the phenomenon of politically motivated purchasing and boycotts. We will examine consumers' preference for brands taking a political stance versus remaining apolitical, drawing on recent events where major retailers took a political stance. We will also look at cases where companies reported changes in sales due to their political stances or those of their endorsers.
The objective of this session is to analyze the factors driving brands' decisions to take a political stance and to examine variations in responses to brand behaviors across different demographics and ideological spectrums. We will then discuss the implications of these consumer patterns on business strategies.
