Covid-19 has caused dramatic shifts in the way we live.  These changes are mirrored in our electric consumption.  With more people staying at home, residential consumption has increased at the expense of commercial and industrial consumption.  So far, watching real-time electric data has proven to be an informative indicator of recent economic trends.  But, will electric consumption tell us where we are going?  This presentation discusses the reasons for the underlying variability in electric data and the relationship between electricity and economics.  By understanding the data composition, predictive analytics may be improved to inform a range of recovery scenarios.
