Face-to-Space: Mastering the Art of Virtual Presentations
LIVE ONLINE

April 21 & 23, 2020

Tuesday, April 21 and Thursday, April 23
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM EDT

Some of the most important factors in a Virtual Presentation’s success include the work the presenter puts into preparation, audience interaction, and slide design.  The slides are not merely visual aids; they are the visuals.

This course is focused on how to prepare for an effective webinar. Course content falls into these two areas: Sequencing - Planning the logical flow of material; Designing - Making attractive slides and optimizing them for online viewing.

Session 1 (April 21) will be the instruction and assignments.

Session 2 (April 23) will be practice in group breakouts and presentation to the team.

I. Session 1:
        a. Webinar Sequence
                i. Introduction - Methods that set the scene – and the audience’s expectations – for the rest of the session.
ii. Main Content - How to structure content in a logical sequence, so the main points flow easily and make sense to the participants. Four common methods covered include the Timeline, Geography, Problem to Solution, and Lists.
iii. Platform Modifications - Using the camera, appearance, and angle of the camera, etc., for platforms like Zoom.
        b. Audience Engagement
                i. Interaction Points - How to purposefully design engagement points which prompt audience feedback.
ii. Sample Engagement Tools: Examples of engagement tools such as Q&A and Polling.
        c. The Conclusion – How to reinforce the main message and take action.
        d. What’s Next? – How to create a drive to a next action. In this case, what happens next in Session 2? Participants are divided into groups and given directions for Team Presentation expectations.

II. Session 2:
        a. Practice in group breakouts and presentation to their teams. Instructor gives feedback.
