The Denver Association of Business Economics will host a luncheon on Wednesday, August 19, with Patricia Silverstein of Development Research Partners as the speaker.
DABE has elected officers for the coming year: Ron New, president; Lisa Strunk, treasurer; Chris Akers, secretary. Board members are: John Backlund, John Bartholomew, Steve Beckman, Zak Brewer, Bill Harris, Kate Kelly, Natalie Mullis, David Schwartz, and Chris Underwood.
The Economic Roundtable of Jacksonville, Fla., will kick off the 2009-10 season on September 29 with a talk by Gregory B. Smith, Jacksonville and North Florida president for Bank of America, on “Merging Three Giants—Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and Countrywide.”
Los Angeles NABE will host an evening with John Silvia, Wells Fargo chief economist, on Wednesday, September 16, at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel. Silvia will discuss the latest developments on the economy and Wells Fargo, according to LA Chapter President Sara Sutachan, California Association of Realtors.
The New York Association for Business Economics has scheduled its first fall event for September 10, when the chapter will present the Butler Award to Frederic Mishkin, former Federal Reserve Board Governor and currently the Alfred Lerner Professor of Banking and Financial Institutions at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business.
