Watch for the release Wednesday, August 31, of the NABE’s semi-annual Policy Survey. Sign up now for the teleconference set for 11 a.m. EDT, with speakers to be announced. Join a teleconference sponsored by the Regional Utility Roundtable on Wednesday, September 16. The topic is "A Regional Perspective on Economic Recovery: How is Recovery Progressing in Different Regions of the Country?" Speaking will be Jason Bram, senior economist, Federal Reserve Bank of New York; Sieb Hoogstra, director, OCO Global; and Scott Pattison, executive director, National Association of State Budget Officers. The NABE Foundation is offering scholarships to the 51st Annual Meeting in St. Louis on October 10-13. Applicants must be 35 years of age or younger; have worked in the economics field for seven years or less; be involved in a position that uses economic principles and theory; and hold an undergraduate college degree or higher. Scholarships will be awarded up to the $800 that covers the entire cost of the meeting. Partial scholarships may also be awarded. More information and the application form are available on the Foundation’s website and the deadline is September 2.

The July NABE Industry Survey has been widely covered by the media since its July 20 release, according to NABE press officer Melissa Golding. Industry survey analyst Shawn DuBravac of the Consumer Electronics Association discussed the survey on Marketplace Radio’s Morning Report, Reuters Television (national syndication service), and CBS Radio’s Boston affiliate.
