Real GDP Growth by Quarter

Real GDP growth

The Graph of the Week comes from the October 2008 NABE Outlook, and shows the range of estimates for real GDP growth by quarter. From the survey:

The NABE panel has sharply lowered its expectations for near-term economic performance.  Our economists see virtually no economic growth in the fourth quarter following an estimated annualized rise of only 1.0 % in real GDP (gross domestic product) in the third quarter.  The economy is expected to remain sluggish into the first part of next year, with real GDP growing at an annualized rate of only 1.3 % in the first three months of 2009.

NABE members can read the full survey here. A summary is available to the public.
